And a true carnival treat: a high striker…you know the ones… for over a century, men at county and state fairs across America have tested their he-man strength with High Striker. Sometimes they compete for a stuffed doll for their gal, and sometimes the prize is the manly pride of beating their buddies.

National, Regional and First Street Gallery artists create Sea Turtle themed artwork in clay, photography, metal, glass and jewelry with a portion of the proceeds from all Sea Turtle art work donated to the Beaches Sea Turtle Patrol. Lots of favorites from previous shows along with many new artists are this year’s contributors – Last year First Street Gallery artists raised close to $600 to donate to their favorite local charity – Beaches Sea Turtle Patrol.

Jacksonville artists Lucy Clark and Terese Muller collaborate together in bringing Metamorphosis of Clay and Color to First Street Gallery. The show runs from April 10 through May 21 with an opening reception and an opportunity to meet both the artists on Friday, April 12th 7-9pm.
Lucy Clark came to the art form of building clay vessels later in life. After working as a massage therapist for over 20 years, she touched clay and everything changed.
“Music in the Courtyard” at 200 First Street in Neptune Beach plays 7 to 10 pm every Friday night April through October. Sponsored by all of the 200 First Street Courtyard Shoppes, this season, each Friday night will include special promotions and giveaways to make the evening even more festive! It’s a free event open to the public.
The weekend doesn’t stop there: Saturday Evening Jazz is sponsored by Lillie’s Coffee Bar, rain or shine, inside or out from 7:30 to 9:30 pm.

An Atlantic Beach resident, Melinda Bradshaw has been an artist at First Street Gallery since 2005 and creates all the graphics for the Gallery as well as several local businesses.
For this exhibit - Iconic Palms, Melinda is displaying her photographic renditions of Florida palm trees. Art has always been a part of her life, with an extensive artistic background spanning over the last 35 years and retired after 25 years as a graphics designer.
